Trip to Salt Lake City

This is the first summer that we have got the chance to have a family vacation. We debated on were to go we thought we would go to North Dakota, the the Oregon coast, Northern California, then it was Washington for a few days. We finally decided on Salt Lake City. Belle told me about this awesome pass they found on line called (salt lake city connection pass) There are 14 things to do on the list, but you only have two days to do it. So we spent $110.00 and we did 9 things on the pass. The baseball game was not part of the pass. I really wanted to go to a ball game and The Mariners were to far away.

We started out on Thursday morning. We went to the Zoo. Then right across the street was the Heritage park. Awesome place to go they have over 45 building. They took some of the old houses that were down in the Salt Lake Valley are bought them to the park. We walked though Brigham Young's house. We could has spent even more time there. It's an amazing place. We will definitely be taking the kids back there. Then we headed up to Snowbird. It was 95 that day, but by the time we got up the mountain it was 58. The kids loved the ride up. Me not so much. Oh on this pass we got one meal at the Lion House pantry. We did that too.

Next day we went to the aquarium. Which was small but hands on for the kids. Then headed up to the museums and then to the Tracy Avery. The last time We went there was when April worked there. We made it to the bird show and the kids did a craft there. Then went to the Discovery Center. Oh they loved it there was so much for them to do. To finish off the day we went to IMax theater and watched a light show with music from U2.

That was the trip in a nut shell. We had the best time. We saw a lot of stuff. That would cost so much more if we did not by the pass on line (thanks for the tip Belle).

It was a great break from the normal stuff I usually have to do every week. I loved it. It was hard to get back in the swing of things. Now Summer is over with kids starting school on Wednesday. Over all Summer was great. Loved Michael being home all summer. So grateful for that.

What a great little historical family trip. You'll have to forward me the website to buy that pass. Now we have friends who moved to Salt Lake and we would like to go up and visit. So glad Michael got to be home this summer and enjoy you and the kids.
